My dad just cannot resist when he sees a plant in a pot titled "bonsai" - no matter how ugly it looks - he just got to buy it for me :D
Or maybe he liked what I did to the last "bonsai" he got for me - earlier mentioned ficus.
Well, the whole family had a laugh when we´ve seen it first, but later I took it as another challenge.
It appears to be Ligustrum ovalifolium, it costed him 4 euros and it was desperatelly rootbound.
So over the weekend, while my baby was playing in the sandpit, I brought a chair next to her and gave it a repot, and a radical cuts were made. I also gave the branches that were left a quick wiring.
Although it is not the right time for what I did to it, I believe that indoor plant like this won´t mind after what it has been growing in in the supermarket.
Now it is gonna rest and will be left to grow in a bigger pot till the branches set to positions, afterwards I will remove the wires and I will let it grow for a very long time, till it will remind me of a prebonsai.
PS: As to other news - I moved my new ficus penjing inside since the nights are getting colder and I am loving the view of it from our bed :)

Môj otec proste nevie odolať keď vidí rastlinu v miske označenú ako "bonsai" - nezáleží na tom aká je škaredá - musí je pre mňa kúpiť :D
Alebo sa mu len páčilo čo som spravil s jeho posledným darom - fikusom spomínaným nedávno.
Tak potom čo sme sa na tom celá rodina poriadne zasmiali, zobral som to ako ďalšiu výzvu.
Vyzerá to byť vtáči zob, stál ho 4 eurá a bol totálne prekorenený v miske.
Takže počas víkendu, kým sa moja dcérka hrala v piesku som si k nej doniesol stoličku, a presadil som ho do väčšej misky s obstrihanými koreňmi, spravil som hlboký rez a nadrátoval som konáriky ktoré sa zvýšili.
Verím že aj keď nieje vhodná doba na tieto úkony, takejto izbovke ktorá rástla v supermarketovom sajrajte to neublíži.
Teraz jej dám pokoj a keď sa drôt bude chcieť zarezať do konárikov, odstránim ho a nechám rastlinu nech si rastie až kým nebude vzdialene pripomínať prebonsai.
PS: Ešte jedna novinka - Keďže sa noci ochladzujú, ukončil som letnenie nového fikusového penjingu a už mi zdobí parapet v spálni a z postele mám na neho krásny výhľad, ktorý ma veľmi teší :)
